Everything you need to know before you sign up — format, match settings, and conduct.
Last updated: July 18, 2026 — rules may be adjusted per event; changes are announced via a pinned message in chat.
Teams are 5 players. You can register a full team, join an open team that needs players, or sign up as a free agent and get matched onto a team before the bracket locks. One account per player — no playing under someone else's registration.
Sign-ups close when the organizer generates the bracket. Get your team locked in ahead of time — once the bracket is generated, registration is closed for that event.
CLS runs single-elimination brackets. Early rounds are typically Best-of-1, with Best-of-3 in the semifinals and Best-of-3 or Best-of-5 for the grand final — the exact format for each event is announced ahead of time and cast live by Cruton.
If a match is uneven due to a bye (an odd number of teams in a round), the team with the bye automatically advances to the next round.
Matches are played on the current live patch at the time of the event, using standard tournament draft (or blind pick for Bo1s, at the organizer's discretion) on Summoner's Rift. Custom lobby settings, exploits, or anything outside normal ranked-equivalent settings aren't allowed.
One team captain is responsible for creating the custom lobby and inviting the opposing captain, unless the organizer sets up the lobby directly.
Some events require check-in before the bracket is generated — if enabled, you'll see a Check In button on your team's card on the Tournaments page while sign-ups are open. Any team that hasn't checked in by the time the organizer generates the bracket may be treated as a no-show and left out of that event.
Once your match is live, both teams get a short grace period to show up and ready up (announced per event). Teams that don't show up within that window can be defaulted to a loss.
The same rules that apply to chat apply here, plus a few tournament-specific ones:
If something goes wrong mid-match (disconnect, lobby issue, suspected rule break), reach out to a mod or Cruton immediately via Discord or Twitch chat — don't wait until after the match to raise it. Screenshots or a replay code help a lot if there's a scoring dispute.
Rule violations can result in a match loss, disqualification from the event, or a site-wide ban depending on severity, at the organizer's discretion. Match results and bracket progression are managed by mods and the owner through the tournament dashboard.
